Vanya Hargreeves, originally designated as Number Seven, is one of forty-three children born at the 12th hour of the first day of October 1989 to mothers without any previous signs of pregnancy. The baby was one of seven children adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves with the intention of training them to save the world. Unlike her six foster siblings, Vanya apparently had no superpowers. She had a talent for the violin, and as an adult, she wrote an autobiography about her life as an ordinary member of the Umbrella Academy.
However, Vanya's life was a lie. Not only did she possess powers, but ironically, she was arguably the most powerful in the entire academy. Early on, Sir Reginald discovered that her emotions were linked to her ability to harness sound and convert it into energy. Despite trying to teach her how to control them, he found Vanya's powers too great and destructive to unleash. As a result, Sir Reginald worked to cover up and suppress them. She was medicated to suppress her emotional state, and Sir Reginald had her sister, Allison, convince her that she was "ordinary", using her own power to subtly alter reality by lying.
Vanya learned the truth about her powers when Leonard Peabody found Sir Reginald's diary and manipulated her to exact revenge on the Academy. After all the revelations and the way he was treated by his family, Vanya's powers were fully unleashed, and in her ensuing rampage, she accidentally triggered the apocalypse by assuming her "White Violin" form.
Despite being transported away from the apocalypse, Vanya had her memories erased after being hit by a car when she arrived on October 12, 1963 via the time jump. She was taken in by the family driving the car with which she formed a unique bond. She rediscovered her unique ability soon after, which allowed Five to track her down and reunite her with the rest of the Academy. While trying to stop an apocalyptic nuclear war, Diego discovered that it was Vanya who had once again triggered the apocalypse by blowing up an FBI building during the John F. Kennedy motorcade, which was blamed on the Soviets, leading to World War III. Ben was able to dissuade Vanya from this action and finally prevent the apocalypse.

Powers and Abilities[]
At first, Vanya was said to be the only member of the academy to not have powers, being considered "not special" by her adoptive father, Sir Reginald Hergreeves. However, later, when he stopped taking his mood medications, his powers began to reveal themselves along with his emotional outbursts, with his main power being his ability to control sound.
- Sound Manipulation: Vanya's main power is the ability to control and channel all types of sounds around him, being able to convert them into energy. Your powers are directly linked to your emotions, and you can even activate them inadvertently when you lose control. When her powers are activated, her skin turns pale, her eyes glow blue with white irises, and a bluish aura of energy forms around her. It was eventually revealed that Vanya would be the reason for the apocalypse, as he rebelled against his family by losing control of his emotions, assuming a cold and hostile personality by becoming the "White Violin".
- Sound Absorption: Vanya can channel the sound she is in contact with and absorb it to the point of releasing it at great power. When confronting Allison in the cabin in the woods during a fit of rage, Vanya was able to absorb present sounds, such as the creaking of wood and the cracking of glass windows, to absorb and release in the form of a power cut. As she was crossing the street, a passing car honked at Vanya and the driver insulted her, causing Vanya to absorb the sound and release it as a large blast of energy that launched the car away. - Energy Manipulation: By converting sound into energy, Vanya can harness it in several ways, mainly for combat, releasing it in the form of immense explosions of energy. The stronger Vanya's emotions are, the greater the amount of energy she can release, manifesting as a bright white aura in blue. His first display of his energy blasts was when Leonard paid a group of men from a bar to fake a robbery, where Vanya got scared and, to protect Leonard, released a wave of energy that killed two of the attackers. When she was placed in confinement by her Umbrella brothers, it was thought that she could not escape, but she was so furious with her brothers for doing this that she ended up blowing up the cell with a huge explosion, taking on an apathetic personality. In the decisive battle for the salvation of the world, the Umbrella's invaded Vanya's recital in an attempt to prevent her from releasing the explosion that would cause the apocalypse, but they were all heavily hit by Vanya's energy waves, almost becoming the "White Violin ", where his entire body released a strong brilliant flash of sound energy. When Vanya was about to kill her strangled brothers with her energy bonds, Allison came up behind her and fired a shot right next to her ear, the sound of which forced Vanya to release her entire energy charge at once in the form of a powerful beam that shot out. of the planet and destroyed the Moon, where the fragments fell on Earth and caused the apocalypse. Upon regaining her memory in 1963, Vanya, Sissy and Harlan were trying to escape the farmhouse, but when the police ambushed them, Vanya threw them away with a wave of energy. Upon waking up in an FBI headquarters, she ended up losing control after being tortured and destroyed the place, killing almost everyone inside the building. When the Umbrella's were cornered by the Time Commission's army, Vanya defeated them all at once by releasing a gigantic blast of energy. When fighting Sloane, Vanya tried to attack her with an energy blast, but was hit first. She was considered by the Sparrow's to be the most dangerous member of the Umbrella's, as she defeated all of the Sparrow's alone with a wave of energy. When confronted with Lila by a Guardian from the Hotel Oblivion, the two teamed up and defeated the guardian with an explosion.
- Force Field Projection: Vanya is able to shape sound in the form of protective energy barriers, just as Harlan demonstrated being able to do when absorbing part of his powers. When he tried to reabsorb Harlan's powers back into himself in 1963, Vanya and Harlan ended up generating an energy field around themselves during the power transfer, which no one could cross and even Vanya herself had some difficulty entering. Back in 2019, Vanya met Harlan as an elderly man who still had part of his powers and in the second attempt to reabsorb them, two orbs of energy were generated around the two of them.
- Telekinesis: Vanya can influence the movement of objects and bodies around him through sound waves. Since she was little, Vanya Jpa trained her telekinesis by focusing on glass goblets, exploding them all. She also couldn't adapt to her nannies, going so far as to kill them all, lifting them into the air and then throwing them away and with such force that they broke their necks. During an outburst of anger while crossing the street, Vanya ended up bending the poles that were in the street. Upon being humiliated by Leonard, Vanya became furious and began projecting sound waves around, using the sound to lift Leonard up and throw several knives and forks at his abdomen and face until he died. When Pogo revealed that he had always known about Vanya's powers, she strangled him in mid-air and threw him against the antlers of the decorative deer head in the academy room, impaling him to death. In 1963, when Vanya realized that Harlan was drowning at the bottom of the lake, she removed all the water from the place, leaving it suspended in the air, until she reached the boy to save him.
- Transmutation: During her gigantic manifestation of energy during her recital, the energy generated by Vanya was strong enough to alter the material of her clothing to the point of leaving it completely white.
- Flight: Over time, Vanya learned to levitate in the air while using his powers. During the temporal reality of World War III in 1963, Vanya flew in front of a tank fire to disperse the attack. While training her newfound powers, Vanya ended up generating strong air currents through the forest around Leonard's cabin. When Allison arrived at the cabin to take Vanya away from Leonard, Vanya was very angry with Allison when she discovered that she knew about her powers and helped in the process to inhibit them, causing strong gusts of wind to envelop the cabin.
